Amid the pomp one guest at Uhuru Park appears to have taken some shine out of the celebrations. Sudanese President Omar al Bashir made a surprise appearance at the event, defying an arrest warrant issued against him by the International Criminal Court over the Darfur crisis. The court has reported Kenya to the UN Security Council for failing to arrest the Sudanese President. But as NTV’s Rita Tinina reports, the Kenyan government says it has no apologies to make over the visit.
