The death toll in the horror road accident in Kisumu last night has now risen to 26. One more person died in hospital this afternoon as relatives thronged the local mortuary in search of bodies of their loved ones. Rescuers had battled for most of last night trying to remove bodies from the wreckage. Witnesses say the accident occurred when a lorry rammed into a matatu that had stopped at a roadblock on the Kisumu-Kakamega highway.
