Are our children learning? That is the sticking question in a sobering new survey released earlier today. The study finds that more than one third of pupils in standard six cannot read basic sentences in English. The survey conducted throughout Kenya by education experts also reveals that fifty out of every one thousand standard eight pupils cannot read a class two story.
