Mudavadi denies cemetery scam role
Wednesday March 10, 2010
Close to 300 million shillings was paid out through the Nairobi City Council for the purchase of an alternative cemetery site in Kitengela but the huge chunk of that money has ended up in private accounts and pockets of individuals. It was literally a hot day for deputy Prime Minister and local government minister as he spent time defending himself from the cemetery land scandal. The spirited defence by the usually quiet Mudavadi moved from press conferences to the floor of parliament where he stated that he never pocketed 59 million shillings from the cemetery deal. NTV’s Brenda Mulinya begins our extensive coverage on corruption in the coalition.
