Murugi to close all camps by December

The Government says it plans to resettle the remaining IDPs by the end of the year. Special programmes minister Esther Murugi says already government has set aside three million shillings for the comprehensive programme that will see all the satellite camps dotted across the country done with.The man will be used to purchase pieces of land for each IDP in the country. She spoke during a tour of idps at Kikopey and Mai Mahiu camps. There are 6182 IDPs across the country according to government records. Most of them are living in deplorable conditions in those camps.
