800-metres showdown as Jepkosgei and Jelimo face off

World champion, Janeth Jepkosgei. This sets up a fiery 800-metres showdown between the expresses during the national Athletics trials on Saturday, that is Jepkosgei, or Eldoret Express, versus Olympic gold medalist Pamela Jelimo, otherwise nicknamed the Nandi Express. And as if that is not enough competition already, world junior 800m champion, Cherono Koech will be in the mix for one of the two express tickets to Berlin.

Over 38 athletes to compete against each other in a knockout cross country race, which shall be used to name a 27 member national team to compete in the World Cross Country Championship set for next month in Scotland.
Kogo to spearhead athletics team to Berlin

World 10km record holder Micah Kogo will spearhead the 10 000m men’s team to next month’s world championships in Berlin. Kogo and Moses Masai have been picked by Athletics Kenya to replace Sammy Kitwara and Gideon Ngatuny who were dropped for competing in Europe without AK’s approval. And in an effort to streamline the management of Kenyan runners AK, has banned a German agent indefinitely and suspended two local coaches.
