The government has been challenged to establish an independent regulatory body to oversee the microfinance sector. In an exclusive interview with NTV, the man regarded as the Father of Microcredit, Professor Muhammad Yunus has said such a move would enable microfinance institutions to thrive freely without the risk of being crowded out by the mainstream banking sector.
